Artist Biography
Strickfaden is a resident of Manhattan Beach and the surrounding beach communities since 1990 and has been painting professionally in the South Bay for over 15 years.  She has had several local gallery showings, as well as displayed her art in local businesses in the Beach Cities.  She is also a member of FOLA (Foundation of Local Arts), a non-profit organization promoting the Arts in the South Bay.  You may see and purchase Strickfaden's latest artwork on FOLA's new website at www.cultureartsshowcase.com.

Known solely as an abstract painter, Strickfaden is passionate about painting, and is drawn to abstract, expressionist modern art.  Her work is about surface quality; always alive with color and texture.  As a former interior designer, current color trends, textiles, and other organic materials and forms often inspire her work.  Strickfaden's latest series of paintings are based on atmospheric abstract landscapes, seascapes, and skyscapes.

Strickfaden has studied the great International and Abstract painters through her education, travel abroad, museums and galleries, and continues this study to perfect her conceptual ideas.  Mark Rothko, Joan Miro, Jackson Pollack, Wassily Kandinsky, and Pablo Picasso are just a few of the artists that have provided inspiration for Strickfaden's work.

Strickfaden's latest works can be seen at LIDO Restaurant, and Manhattan Country Club, both in Manhattan Beach.  Email the artist at tsmodernart@aol.com to discuss a custom painting for your home.
